This spring Nick Hartrich, the new Executive Director of the Downtown Bellingham Partnership, approached us about building a bar for the Downtown Bellingham Partnership office. His goal was to make the space more inviting and useful. He has a vision of hosting events from Morning Jam to afternoon happy hour in the space. He also wanted to be able to use the bar as his desk, opening the windows and chatting with passerby’s.
The update was a joint project that included us, Bellingham Bay Builders, Black Fin Design, St. John’s Glass and Chazzzam Signs & Graphics LLC. We used a piece of bowling alley slab, one of our signature materials, for the bar and Black Fin Design built the supports. The bowling alley slab came from 20th Century Bowling, just up the street. If you love the DBP’s new bar and want one of your own, give us a call! We have a pile of bowling alley slabs in the back just waiting to be repurposed.
The space looks great! It was a fun project to collaborate on and we’re glad we could help out and donate some time and materials to the Downtown Bellingham Partnership. They work hard to support downtown businesses and make downtown Bellingham a prime business location, visitor destination, and an important source of community identity.
