In 2015 the Community Energy Challenge (CEC) is considering proposing a Remodel + CEC pilot project. The pilot will be in partnership with the WSU Energy Program and the Building Performance Center and funded through the Community Energy Efficiency Program (CEEP). We are excited about the Pilot Project because completing extensive building performance work during a remodel has the potential to make the deep energy retrofits more affordable and more extensive. The Community Energy Challenge created this flier, about a recent Chuckanut Builders project, to detail the cost savings and potential for projects like these. The biggest takeaway from the flier is that the we were able to reduce energy consumption in the home by 81% while also saving an estimated $10,000 by combining the building performance and remodel work!
