On March 23rd Governor Inslee announced the Stay at Home, Stay Healthy order.
This policy:
- Requires every Washingtonian to stay home unless they need to pursue an essential activity.
- Bans all gatherings for social, spiritual and recreational purposes.
- Closes all businesses except essential businesses.
In the words of Governor Jay Inslee, “The less time we spend in public, the more lives we will save.”
Under this policy non-essential businesses are required to close, which includes nearly all commercial and residential construction It states:
In general, commercial and residential construction is not authorized under the Proclamation because construction is not considered to be an essential activity.
Chuckanut Builders is complying with this new guidance and we have stopped all work on our job sites until midnight of April 8.
Our office teams will continue working, albeit remotely, to help homeowners plan remodeling projects. It is impossible to know the impact of this shutdown on our future construction schedule. We ask for everyone’s patience as establish new protocols for working with clients remotely.
Like so many of you, we look forward to resuming normal operations once it is safe for us to do so.
