This summer we donated to Vamos Outdoors in support of their Saturday Parks Program in Skagit County. The program is a partnership with the Burlington-Edison’s GearUp program, which serves middle and high school students in GearUp.
Throughout the eight-week program students got to go mountain biking, hiking, learn about salmon, play frisbee golf, and more. The program wrapped with a celebration, which included a program end slideshow, raffle, and recognition awards. Our donation helped provide high quality raffle items for the students, including hydration packs, headlamps, and other outdoor gear.
The mission of Vamos Outdoors is “Building community through access to environmental education.” Vamos works to eliminate barriers to access for Latinx and English Language Learner families, bridging culture and language barriers and helping them draw on transformative experiences as they grow to love their bodies, their culture, their communities, and their landscapes
We are proud to support this inspiring, community focused organization!
Chuckanut Builders tagline is “Committed to the community, committed to the craft.” In the spirit of living up to our tagline we try to give back as much as we can. Starting in 2020 we committed to donating 3% of profits to local organizations, prioritizing green building, climate change, housing, and the preservation of wild places.
