Tour the Soundview Home

Have you ever wondered what “green building” means? What these technologies look like in action and why they matter? The Sustainable Connections Green Home Tours & Talks provides an opportunity for the community to find out! Building nerds, construction professionals, and interested homeowners can learn about green building, high performance homes, get inspired, and see innovations applied on local homes.

This year, the Sustainable Connections Green Home Tours & talks are happening county-wide, as pop-up events. This will allow builders to feature projects at all stages of the construction process and afford a behind the scenes look at construction projects that many folks will never see. Builders, designers, architects and specialized craftsmen and women will be on hand to chat about high performance building techniques, their favorite design materials, and techniques implemented on the build.

On August 19th from 4-7pm, Chuckanut Builders will co-host a tour of the Soundview House (156 Soundview Road). We are over the moon about this build! Not only is it stunning, it demonstrates flawless integration of high-performance building technologies, innovative green building techniques, and modern design. Throughout the process, our team was committed to building a durable, healthy home with enduring design and high-quality finishes that elevate the natural beauty of the surroundings.

The home is 3,673 square foot (3 bed/4bath), boasts a high-performance wall assembly with double-studded walls, triple-pane windows that ensure an airtight thermal barrier and near net zero energy consumption. The Soundview Home is sited on a picturesque, wooded lot tucked into the Chuckanut hillside, with an extensive rain garden that captures and manages rainwater onsite. No detail was overlooked to ensure a modern and efficient home.

The team that brought this beautiful house to life includes:

Building Designer— Westgate Design Works

Interior Designer— Spiral Design Studio

Custom cabinets— Baraa Woodworks

Custom metal fabrication— Yeomalt Design

Landscape Design— Katy Sherrer Landscapes

Landscape Installation — Forager Landscapes

We are proud of how this project turned out and loved working with this dream team to make it happen. Come on out and see it for yourself! Visit the Sustainable Connections Tour website for more details and to see other tour stops!
