If you asked anyone at Chuckanut Builders what their favorite countertop material is they’d likely tell you Paperstone. It’s becoming our signature countertop. It’s made locally from recycled materials. We can use woodworking tools to shape it. It’s also super durable, patinas well, is warm to touch, and not as likely to break your dishes as stone or granite. Can you tell that I love this stuff?
From a green building perspective Paperstone has a dramatically smaller carbon footprint than most stone. This is because it’s made locally and we don’t have to transport it very far. And, unlike many granite alternatives it is petroleum free.
Paperstone projects
- On this project we used it on the bookshelves, desk and in the bathroom.
- At the Birthroot Birth Center we used Paperstone for the sink in the foyer as well as the vanities in the birth rooms.
- The reception desk at 3 Oms Yoga studio was made of reclaimed fir, bowling alley slab and our favorite countertop materials!
